Fishing Report 13th September 2012 Compiled and transmitted by Lakes Entrance Visitor Information Centre For information for your holiday conference or event Visit our website at www.discovereastgippsland.com.au | | | Town Jetties are the best spots for Luderick on local weed, also for Bream, Trevally and the odd Mullet, the best bait is prawn and pilchard. Surf is wild and windy, holding bottom is hard, but Salmon are about if you are brave. | | In the both Arms of the system Flatties are out and about. Best time is at evening just before dark. Best bait is prawn, sandworm, soft plastics and hard bodied lures. | | Bream are moving into the River and heading upstream. Grassy Banks is a hot spot, best bait is prawn and spider crab. Bream sizes are 35cm and upwards. | | Bream and Flathead are taking sandworm, prawn and crab. Best spots are upstream from Bums Flat and through to the Blue Hole. Also try the powerlines to Bennetts Brook. | | Bream are moving upstream from the Reeds through to the Straight Six and the Poplars, best bait is prawn and crab. | | Mullet and Whiting are taking prawn, Shaving Point and towards Lake King and beyond are best spots. The Mosquito Point to Dell Point for Flatties on squidgees. | | Bream are being caught at Fishermans Wharf on peeled prawn and worm, also try the Mc.Millan Straights. | | Bream are travelling from Spoon Bay and up into Jones Bay and Tom’s Creek, bait of choice sandworm and prawn. | | Rock Groynes are producing Luderick. Bream and Mullet are in French’s Narrows and into Lake Corringle on prawn, crab and sandworm. Salmon on the beach, best bait being blue bait. | | The channel is fishing well with Bream taking peeled prawn and sandworm. Salmon are also in the channel and on the surf , metal lures and blue bait being the best bait. | | Waterways are full of Salmon, Harrison Channel is the best spot on metal lures. Captains Point for Luderick on weed. Gypsy Point has Bream on peeled prawn and lures. | | The River and Lake system is producing good fishing. Bream are taking black cut crab. Luderick at groynes on weed, Mullet taking any soft baits, with Salmon, Tailor, and Flatties take lures and blue bait. |
