Hi, if u r happy with ur current renting status, suggest you to treat your residential property as an investment property to maximum 6 yrs for offseting the tax you will be paying in your coming tax returns especially when you r a high income earner, as long as you will be back to your residential property within 6 yrs, you will not be taxed for CGT.
I think it is the best choice at the moment for you, if the price of property goes up and it will be gd time for you to sell it, currently, all the property market does not seem so well.
If you want to buy another home property nearby your current company, this is another story then.
msg me if u r interested in working out as i think it is a very awesome option to do it.
