请教有五六年级小朋友假期时间一个人在家的吗？

孩子说去假期班没意思，想一个人在家。但我们还是担心安全问题，万一有人入室偷盗或其他危险。。。。

父母做好足够的准备工作，教会孩子应急措施，我认为可以让孩子独自在家。

读中学就不能去假期班了，还不趁现在还有假期班和小朋友疯玩？ 我们家的是最爱假期班的。几个人堆在一起玩Ds是他最大的乐事。

想问一下Lz，孩子想一个人在家8小时，不会闷吗？

孩子到了这个年纪，可以独自呆在家里。

孩子去了几年假期班了，虽然有很多外出活动，但每年内容也差不多。现在假期班里大部分是PREP，或低年级的小朋友，他就觉得很没意思。想一个人在家（我也明白，可以打打游戏什么的）。我问他万一有坏人来了怎么办，他说他可以身上别着2把刀，来人就砍。。

去年假期我女不愿自己回国，就自己在家呆了几天，不过她会自己烧水饺热饭的。

今年总算不用担心这个了，做contractor真好啊，刚做了tax return也比想像的好很多！

听说13岁以下是不能独自在家的，不过，这么大的孩子只要自己也认为自己可以在家，不会害怕的话，应该也可以了。

我们家大公主好像从year4 就会有时候一个人在家了。school holiday 她也不是每天的program 都喜欢。我也不能连着请两个星期的假。就是关照好煤气，电插头不能碰。吃的东西准备好。不开门。然后就是一个小时一个电话。个人觉得还行。大概小朋友是女生吧，比较听话。男孩子就不是那么放心了。会比较难控制。

1-澳洲对独自在家没有年龄限制。周围华人西人一样把孩子一人留在家的。

2五六年级还不够大到一人在家吗？我是两年级就自己一人在家过暑假了。那时候还没有抽水马桶呢，我妈下班第一个迎接她的就是一个满满的痰盂。哈！一个人写字画画看书跳绳不知多快乐！

哈哈，看来我儿子破纪录了，5岁独自在家，我们把饭提前煲好，他自己盛饭，热菜，吃饭，还令我惊喜地把洗衣机里的衣服晾到阳台上，因为我们走的时候衣服真在洗着呢，回家一看校服都干了，多亏他及时晾出去。我和他爸爸从开始半小时一个电话，到后来一小时，两小时查一下他，现在他电话里都不愿意多和我罗嗦，只想忙着玩他自己的去了。

原来也听说这样是违法的，刚开始那段时间真的是不得已为之，有次打电话给他，一直没人接，吓的十万火急往家里赶，原来手机没电了。。。

后来双方都觉得这样挺好，继续偶尔为之，但是怕邻居告，于是制造各种假象，现在好了，不用担心这是违法行为了。

这个厉害，我儿子也5岁半了，每当他穿衣动作太慢我威胁他我要留他一个人呆家里的时候他总是说You are not allowed to leave your child behind....
其实小时候5岁起我也是自己和小朋友一起走20分钟路上幼儿园，自己回家的，后来小学自己去食堂吃饭，一天都是自己照顾自己。还正要说这里的孩子真没有自理能力呢。

不过还是得小心，有一次儿子课堂作业，照例写他的周末，他老老实实的把我和他爸爸彻底暴露了，老师面谈时show给我看他的写作，虽说是表扬他写的好，可我看了直冒冷汗，儿啊，你怎么这么实诚呢，让为妈的怎么教你呢。现在好了，既然没这传说中的法律，我也不用饶着弯地跟他讲“家事莫外扬”了。又有一次，我可爱的傻小子写道：I was sleeping in the car when mum and dad did shopping! 离开他不过5分钟而已，他怎么什么都跟老师汇报啊，你说这老师也是，老让写周末，弄的我看他的写作本，就像我家的流水帐。

What does the law say in Australia?

There is no actual law that states at what age children can or cannot be left alone, but the law is clear about the responsibility of parents to look after their children.
In many cultures it is usual for children to care for brothers and sisters.
While different societies have different customs, in Australia there is a legal obligation for parents to make sure that their children are properly looked after.
Parents are expected to provide food, clothing, a place to live, safety and supervision.
Parents can be charged with an offence if children are left in a dangerous situation and are not fed, clothed or provided with accommodation.


但是在Queensland刑法里有一条，CRIMINAL CODE 1899 - SECT 364A ，提到了12岁的年龄限制。

完整段落如下：

CRIMINAL CODE 1899 - SECT 364A
364A Leaving a child under 12 unattended

(1) A person who, having the lawful care or charge of a child under 12 years, leaves the child for an unreasonable time without making reasonable provision for the supervision and care of the child during that time commits a misdemeanour.

Maximum penalty--3 years imprisonment.

(2) Whether the time is unreasonable depends on all the relevant circumstances.

所以不能孤立地下个定义说，12岁以下不能独自在家，因为condition applies.
