I understand your feeling totally. I had my baby two years ago. After I came back from maternity leave, I had similar treatment as you had. Actually, I didn't stop working during my maternity leave, I only took two month fully off and then back to three days a week, though only one day in office, two days at home. I have worked in my company in accounting department for a long long time, by myself only. But after one year, the replacement (aussie) would like to replace me forever. Due to some other reason, I changed to part time. Now it seems impossible to be back to full time, as I don't have much work to do.
I have tried job hunting for three weeks, no response. Then I stopped and concentrated on my CPA test. Now the test is over, I might start my job hunting again. Now job market is very challenge. I have prepared that I might have kept looking for a long time before I can move on. So you might start job hunting, but before you find another one, you better keep the current one.
Life is hard, specially harder for immigrants.
Only onething I am clear, that discrimination is everywhere, races, sex...etc.
I believe I will find one in the end and so will you. |
