Free careers / Job search event
Tuesday 19th October (7:00pm-9:30pm).
Venue: The Sofitel, 25 Collins St, Melbourne CBD.

The event is a careers/job search skills event for migrants and refugees
(as well as others who may be finding it difficult to find a path to
employment) that is being run by Chandler Macleod. I am one of the
organisational psychologists that works with Chandler Macleod and my
team members and I regularly engage in coaching in career transition and
job search skills, in a commercial environment. As part of our corporate
responsibility, we are now seeking ways to share our expertise with
those who need it most, within the broader community. We are also
partnering with Creativity Australia's, a not-for-profit organisation on
this event.
We will have Psychologists on the night running mini workshops on
interview skills, resume writing, job search strategies, and working
with recruiters. See attached a flyer with all the information you need.
We would like to determine your interest in this event so we can hold
places for any of your clients that may like to attend. So far, we have
people attending from AMES, ASRC and Fitzroy community house, as well as
migrants and refugees who are part of the choirs run by Creativity
Australia. We need to finalise numbers by 7th October.
We will also have a choir performing on the night that the migrants and
refugees are able to join at no cost (they run in the CBD and Dandenong,
and Footscray each week). The choirs are run by Creativity Australia and
bring together migrants, refugees, business leaders and really anyone
interested in being involved in a group that cherishes diversity and
loves singing, and wants to be part of a close community and support
structure (you don't actually have to be able to sing). You can see more
