roaster day off:
if you work more than 7 hrs a day, you can accumulate the extra time, and when it reaches 7hrs, you get to take a day off. some org will simply allow you to take a day off every month or so, with no timesheet requirements.
48/52 package:
not sure, I guess you get 20 days rec leave annually so you work 48 weeks per year?
flexible hours:
you can come in earlier or later than normal hours, as long as you work enough hours per day (by average) and you ARE in office during CORE HOURS. (normally 10-3)
you probably can't negotiate pay with TAFE.
Some contractors go on for ever. Some are gone by end of contract. you never know, but you can definitely ask during the interview.
