I have done qualification assessment long time ago and just finished last bridging course. I was advised to apply ASA membership and pay $138.00 application fee before I start my CPA program. I am a bit confused as I had my qualification assessment extended till end of this year. Why I have to pay a fee to get ASA membership? If you do your path entry assessment now, don't you get ASA membership straight away?
Anyone knows it?

that' membership fee you need to pay annually

I have made two phone calls and was confirmed that I have to pay the application fee again, though my qualification assessment extended. Well, the point to extend my qualification is to "make sure I would not need do more subjects as assessed before" according to the staff working in CPA. $138.00 is not annual membership fee, is application fee.
