Start up from macOS Recovery:
Shut down your Mac.
Press the power button to turn it on, then immediately press and hold one of the following key combinations:
Command (⌘) + R: Reinstalls the latest macOS that was installed on your Mac.
Option (⌥) + Command (⌘) + R: Reinstalls the latest macOS compatible with your Mac.
Shift (⇧) + Option (⌥) + Command (⌘) + R: Reinstalls the macOS that came with your Mac or the closest version available.
Release the keys when you see the Apple logo, a spinning globe, or another startup screen.
Connect to Wi-Fi:
If prompted, connect to a Wi-Fi network.
Reinstall macOS:
In the macOS Utilities window, select "Reinstall macOS".
Follow the on-screen instructions to reinstall macOS.
Important Notes:
A broadband internet connection using DHCP over Wi-Fi or Ethernet is required.
Some network configurations (like PPPoE or captive portals) might prevent internet recovery.
You can also use a USB-C cable to connect to another Mac and revive or restore the firmware, especially if the Mac has a blank screen. |
