With China the epicentre for the Coronavirus outbreak, it may seem strange that we have added a business for which China is also the epicentre of its future growth. While Treasury has a global footprint, it is Asia — and particularly China — that will drive the business over the next ten years. The company has had its other issues recently, most notably a difficult market in the US, and as such, its share price has fallen quite a long way. However, if you believe — as we do — that Treasury’s portfolio of ‘masstige’ wines can forge itself a strong position as the drink of choice for Asia’s wine connoisseurs, then everything happening currently will likely be inconsequential in the long-term.
