Finally handed over my resignation letter, what a relief.
It has been a quite stressful few days and I was surprised that it actually went very well.
I was really worried that my practice manager would be angry with my decision to leave since he just gave me a big group and I have been working on that job for the past two weeks. But he actually took it quite well and wished me good luck.
Like my team leader said, no one is irreplaceable. In relation to the transition, the firm will either hire a new person or promote one of the existing staff member to fill my position.
There will be disruptions to the work flow and the firm will incur expenses, but business will be as usual after a week or two.
The reason for my departure is that I found a job with a higher pay. I found a job because someone left, and by me leaving, a new person will be hired and most likely, he or she will be getting paid more than what he or she currently earns.
In case of promoting the existing staff member, he or she will be learning new skills and take more responsibilities which will lead to pay rise. Interestingly, I got promoted to be an associate at my first job because one of the associates got married and one moved on to a better job.
I guess this is just life.
