If your child is in one of the top tier selective schools, this usually means that he/she has significant inner potential for future development. I wouldn't be too concerned about tutoring for science, but rather, you could develop their curiosity by encouraging them to discover science for themselves.
The reason I raise this is because sciences has a high dependency on logic, and this is something that is difficult to teach using books and lessons. The most important thing here is to allow your child to develop their own logic in understanding the world around them, whether it is finding out how trains work, or how plants grow, or even how water boils. These curiosity-led questions creates a new learning environment for the child to develop a strong sense of logic.
When year 10 comes along, with this developed sense of scientific logic, you may consider tutoring to fine tune their knowledge for academic grades. |
