This story is the first book on Percy Jackson. It is about a teenager called Percy who finds out that greek mythology are real. His life becomes a whole lot harder when the mythologies begin to mix with his life. He is forced to seek refuge at a camp where things surprise and shock him like finding out his best friend is a satyr ,his father is really Poseidon and his mum is still alive after being crushed by a minotaur. He is also accused of stealing zeus’s master bolt (a long lightning bolt ) and the one that threw Kronos(you get to him later in the book) of the throne.

I like all the twists and turns in the story. The book is also surprisingly informative with character from Greek legends like hydra. My favourite character after a long time of choosing was probably Percy because of his courage and his loyalty. I feel like these people could never be real because they seem more intelligent than humans.The story was very mysterious urging you to read more and once you finished you just had to read it again. Rick Riordan’s use of amazing and intriguing adjectives makes the reading interesting and fun. The characters are unique in their very own way. Grover humor ,Percy’s determination etc. The story flows very well. The authors use of language makes the story fold out perfectly.

I wish there was no cliffhanger at the end because I really really really wanted to find out what happened next. The other thing is the difference between the book and the movie. The both have different story plots which makes the readers and viewers confused on which one is the right one.

I recommend this book for ages 8 and above. This book is perfect for those who have a broad imagination and like action.
