This is a opportunity to manage, develop and support a national data and voice network made up of 25+ remote offices and two campus locations in the ACT. With technology from Cisco, Foundry, Juniper and Ironport this blended network will offer great challenges to the correct applicant. Defence Housing Australia wants to add a third Network Engineer to its team in the ACT who are responsible for management, development and deployment of our National network.

Defence Housing Australia has a history of innovation and willingness to move forward with new technology being one of the early adopters of the Cisco Call Manager voice solution back in 2000. Defence Housing Australia have also recently made the change to a blended core solution due to our ability to adapt, accept and deploy new technologies.

Working as a Network Engineer within the team, you will be responsible for technical support and improvement of the national network. You will be expected to bring your unique input to technical design decisions, challenge designs, technical deployments and technology decisions. You will need to possess a strong working knowledge of campus switching and routing technologies and concepts. DHA is a voice based business so an experienced working knowledge of commercial grade VoIP would be a benefit.

ESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES:

Demonstrable expertise in managing reliable campus and WAN networks
* Demonstrated ability to design, build, deploy and manage LAN/WAN networks.
* Proven ability to work independently on projects
* Must be self-managed and self-motivated
The following skills are highly desirable:

CISCO certification or relevant tertiary qualifications
* Knowledge of CISCO Call Manager
* Foundry, Juniper or Ironport experience
ROLE: Non-Ongoing Australian Public Service position.
