Lets look at the matter from 2 aspects: Cost and Investment
Cost wise your total cost is $500 once off and $2,000 ongoing. We do not know how much your balance is so lets assume you have $100,000, then your ongoing cost is already 2% and this does not even include the opportunity cost of the time you spend managing your own fund. So lets say your hourly income is $30 and you spend 100 a hours a year managing your own money, then thats extra $3000 on top. Therefore $5,000 ongoing cost which equates 5% per year.
Compare this to cost of normal super funds, you can even invest in retail super funds for less than 2% these days.
Investment wise, if you are not planning to buy property with SMSF, then normal super fund is way superior in diversification of assets. Assume you only want to invest in Australian Shares. How many different companies are you going to buy with $100,000? If you are buying 30 different companies, brokerage will total about $1200, ($20 per trade per company buying and selling), this is on top of all your other costs mentioned above. In comparison, you can diversify across different countries' share markets, invest in hundreds of different companies in normal super funds.
Investment performance wise, you are concentrating too much on the negative returns of this year. If you look at the returns in the last 4 years, all funds has had great returns. sometimes you have to pocket the gains, cant expect the returns to flow forever. thats just common sense.
Funds management is a profession, they need money to feed themselves and their family too, you dont expect them to work for free do you? its the market correcting itself thats causing the negative return, not the profession. Besides, you probably dont know this but fund managers follow strict investment option mandates, so if funds are invested in australian share option, even if they can foresee market falling, they cant liquidate all their position in the fund.
"挺高的工资,照样亏得一塌糊涂,可见这个管理费交的多少有点冤枉" this statement is narrow sighted. Are you telling people that you have never heard of judges letting go of criminals due to insufficient evidence? You have never heard of doctors following correct procedures but still cant cure a patient or sometimes even causing death? The results alone does not justify the existence of a profession, the need of the society justifies it. |
