Job Summary:
Supporting the commercial business units through the preparation of financial management reports, forecasts and budgets, as well as providing sound financial recommendations
Assisting with monthly local finance responsibilities and shared services centre coordination for the ANZ business.
Key Duties:
Financial Reporting and Analysis
Providing financial analytical support to the Commercial ANZ business.
Assisting with the forecasting, strategic planning and budgeting processes for the business. This includes preparing and validating the numbers, presenting them to the senior management team, and providing sound financial recommendations.
Work with the Financial Controller to ensure month end Management reporting to Regional office are completed, reviewed and lodged on time.
Involved in additional key projects and initiatives as required.
Payroll Accounting
Assist the Finance Manager by processing the monthly payroll journals and preparation of payroll related balance sheet reconciliations for the Australian and New Zealand businesses.
Shared Services Centre Primary Local Contact
This role will be the primary contact between the ANZ business and the Financial Shared Services centre. All queries in the areas of general ledger, accounts payable and travel and entertainment will be addressed in the first instance by this role holder and escalated to the Finance Manager when required.
Process Improvement and Compliance
Assisting the Financial Controller and Finance Manager to drive process and control improvements across the business, ensure the organisation is in compliance with local, regional and global policies.
Ensuring local finance monthly closure tasks and journals are supported and signed off in compliance with SOX requirements.
Rebates
Assisting the Financial Controller and Finance Manager in maintaining monthly rebate agreements to ensure accuracy of monthly calculations and reconciliations.
Taxation and Insurance
Assisting in the preparation of Australian and New Zealand income tax returns, including tax effect accounting, liaising with external tax consultants, making periodic PAYG payments and ensuring all lodgments and payments are made on time and without error.
Preparation of Australia and New Zealand FBT returns.
Preparation of the monthly BAS and bi-monthly GST lodgments.
Monthly payment of payroll tax by state and preparation of the yearly returns.
Together with the Financial Controller providing information to insurers and ensuring the timely renewal of company insurance policies such as business, travel and workers compensation.
General
Other ad hoc duties such as administrative duties, as requested.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Successful completion of relevant tertiary qualifications in finance and CA or CPA
Minimum four years working experience within the finance function
Experience working within the pharmaceutical industry is desirable
Essential Skills and Abilities
Strong understanding of financial reports / budgets / sales forecasts
High level of numeracy accuracy and attention to detail
SAP experience is essential
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint and advanced skills in Excel
Professional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate financial concepts to non-financial people
