Renewing online
If you're eligible, you can renew your licence online up to 6 months before it expires. You may renew your licence online for 1, 3 ir 5 years. You cannot renew your licence online for 10 years.
Please check your licence conditions, as you may need to have your eyesight tested, undergo a medical examination, or take a test before you can renew your licence.
You can renew your licence online if:
You are aged between 21 and 75
If you're less than 45 years old, you must have passed an eyesight test within 10.5 years of the new licence expiry date
If you're aged 45 years or more, you must have passed an eyesight test within 5.5 years of the new licence expiry date
Your current licence expires within the next six months, or expired less than six months ago
You hold an unrestricted or provisional (P1 or P2) licence - learner licence holders cannot renew online, and need to attend any registry or service centre
Your licence is not subject to any enforcement restrictions (ie it's not cancelled, disqualified, suspended or refused, or you're awaiting decision on an appeal or suspension decision)
You've had your photo and signature taken by Roads and Maritime Services within 10.5 years of the new licence expiry date.
If you don't meet these requirements, you will need to go to any registry or service centre in person to renew your licence.
