This benefit is payable from the patient's entitlements, therefore the attendant does not have to be covered by a Bupa policy. This benefit is offered to a partner, immediate family member, carer, parent, child or next of kin who needs to stay at the hospital with the patient. It is intended to cover just one person/parent to stay with the patient.
This benefit offers the following entitlements:
◾accommodation charges raised by the hospital of up to $60 per night while staying with an admitted patient
◾benefit of up to $30 per day towards the cost of meals provided by the hospital or purchased from the hospital cafeteria for the non-admitted person staying with the patient in hospital only.
Note:
Meals, snacks or coffees for patient visitors from the hospital cafeteria or external outlets e.g. McDonalds, Hudsons are not claimable. |
