新移民想请问几个有关小孩上学的问题，希望有tx可以帮忙看看。
我有一小孩出生于2012年12月。
据说小学一年级的入学年龄是五岁（4月30日前)，所以我的小孩应该在2018年入小学，对吗？
我想让小孩入公立小学，请问应该几时报名？
报名的时候需要证明住附近吗？
四岁的pre school 一定要入吗？请问收费如何？(新移民还没找到工  ）

5岁。就是截至当年4月30号前满五岁。可以上prep （猫本的话）
一般不分zone的小学。理论上不需要提供证明住附近。 否则的话分zone就需要提供。  
提前个两年，一年都合理。取决于学校是否紧俏。
四岁的pre-school必须上。维州就是kinder ， 收费不贵吧。 公立的。记得100-200学杂费的样子。

我觉得你们说的好像不一回事啊。

楼主问的是kindergarten/ pre school (维州这么叫的)吧? 不在小学里面的。四岁的那种政府鼓励上，实在忙也有很多人不上的，比如双职工，因为一周3天，每天5小时，很难接送的。我个人觉得上上对小孩有好处，实在忙不上也不违法。这个每学期400-500刀，就是一年1000多的样子。

小学的的prep就像国内学前班，当年4，30前满5岁才能上。在小学里面，一年200，300刀的学费。

提前一两年报名，那就是明年才报名。现在住CBD.
如果现在报CBD学校担心将来搬去别区，明年/后年报名又担心学校满额不收。

这种情况很麻烦。  三岁kinder可以不上。但是四岁必须上的。 老师会出推荐信给当地的小学。 我记得还需要去centerlink打印一些资料。类似免疫的针都打了这些。 然后就可以报名Prep了。

一年四个。每个10周左右，你网上可以很容易搜到每年的school term 日期。现在vic逐渐把prep改叫foundation了，都是一个意思，就是学前班。

政府没有规定必须上，是鼓励上而已。我以前很多同事夫妻2人full time, 根本不可能上的。最多在childcare上一上kinder program， 但也是不一样的。还听说有些家庭经济紧张，就算一年1000多的学费他们都负担不起，也就不上了。

公立学校好像只允许提前1年报名吧，就是上学前1年的3，4月开始。

CC的kinder program也是有资质的。是政府通过认证的。  以前特别因为这个问题问过CC的老师。  说上哪里都可以。但是四岁的必须上。  没有时间找官方连接了。

可能早几年有听CC的阿姨说过。要么是信息有误，要么是后来改了。

无论如何，早期教育不是坏事。很多年纪小的孩子，kinder的老师会给家长建议是否ready for prep。 这个觉得还是挺重要的

这个四岁的kinder不是必须上的。幼儿园的kinder program 和政府办的kinder program都是一样的，也是由有资质的老师带15个小时的课，然后就是一般的child care了。

政府办的kinder一年好像1800左右。这个要提前到council 拿个报名表,报名费大概11刀吧。这个时间不限，你愿意多提前都可以，时间越早越能保证你到时候可以得到位置。

嗯我同事里有几个的孩子都在家附近没有kinder program的childcare上，后来也安安稳稳上了小学了。

我自己的孩子4岁时上3天独立的kinder, 2天带kinder program(政府认证的）的childcare, 但我个人觉得还是独立的kinder 更好些，教学大纲更明确，跟家长的沟通也更多。 如果家里有老人带，或是父母有时间接送，独立的kinder （也有的叫pre-school）对孩子各方面发展帮助更大。

听说不同council规定不一样。我们的council是要交报名表的，但有的council不管这事，要家长自己去找kinder安排。

嗯。  看下来的说法。是各个council的规定不一样。 但是三岁不是州政府拨款。   4岁州政府拨款所以需要去council enroll
肯定不是强制的。但是很多鬼佬也超级混淆。估计和council对小学入学的规定有点关系。

There are 2 different years of Kinder in Victoria..

this is the info for our local council kinders

3 year old - non subsidised and fairly expensive, usually one 2.5 or 3 hour session a week.

4 year old - government subsidised (from memory around maybe $150  a term but dont quote me on that, different places charge different amounts) minimum 10 hours a week spread over 2,3 or 4 days. Must be 4 by 30th April that year.


'm pretty sure that kinder for 4 year olds is compulsory in Victoria - 3 year old kinder is optional.  Most kinders also have an enrolement cut-off - we've just enrolled our DD (she will be 5 in May next year) for 4 year old kinder next year, the cut off date for enrolements was July 31.  We applied through the local councils.  I would suggest you ring the local council of teh area you're looking to move to and have a chat about kinder and also school enrolement.  As someone said, a local state school has to take your children if you're in the area but private schools will have enrolement cut off dates.
