Financial Accountant – Melbourne - salary dependant on experience
The company is experiencing an exciting time of growth and profitability and we have a need for a Financial Accountant to join the Head Office in Melbourne. We are searching for self motivated individuals with a passion for their work to join our successful team to keep pace with our growth.
This role is responsible for the general ledger and all sub-ledgers of the Retail Division within the companies. You will be required to prepare all month end accounts, periodic accounts and reporting, as required by the Management Accountant, Group Financial Controller and CFO.
Your key responsibilities will be:
• Manage and maintain all general ledgers and sub-ledgers of the Retail Division
• Preparation of month end trial balance, profit and loss statements and balance sheet
• Monthly reconciliation of asset/liabilities
• Monthly bill run analysis and investigating on variances/fluctuation in revenue.
• Monthly creditor invoice analysis and investigating on increase/decrease in cost/expenses.
• Perform margin and variance analysis
• Producing the monthly divisional reports
• Asset management
• Monthly/quarterly preparation of BAS for the Retail Division
• Liaising with Credit Management team and account payable and account receivable ledger
• Ad hoc reports on a weekly/monthly basis, as required
• Assist the Management Accountant, Group Financial Controller and CFO as required
Qualifications and experience required:
• Tertiary qualification in Accounting or equivalent is highly desirable
• 1-2 years experience in any accounting related position is an advantage
• Good level of computer skills e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook
• High level of communication skills and analytical skills
• Reliable and able to take on responsibilities
• Ability to work to meet deadlines
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
Key performance indicators:
Delivery of timely and accurate -
• monthly reporting
• monthly margin and variance analysis
• revenue/cost analysis
• monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts
• asset register as required
• BAS reporting on a monthly/quarterly basis
• inventory reporting as requested
We are looking for a candidate who will be able to ‘hit the ground running’ and is comfortable with adapting to new surroundings and procedures etc. You will need excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and an ability to interact with people at all levels.
