请教大虾：一边full time工作，一边读书，行得通吗？

我不觉得这样读3门课有什么实际意义， 如果能full time working而且3门课还能认真去学， 那就是牛。 如果只是去混过， 除了浪费精力和金钱， 没有什么实际用处， 为了文凭？ 这年头在澳洲， 文凭有p用啊

去年该了只有公民才可以申请贷款, 泛指master degree

u can get 25 % of discount, not 85%, the government won't be that nice

if the degree doesn't mean anything to you... that's your bad luck.. however to me, i am happy with diploma.. i got promoted since i got the degree.  And it's too arbitry to say that people with three subject cant 认真去学, but the people with one subject do.
The point is what effort come out of the degree/ diploma.

In terms of the PELS,  you can get 10% extra paid by goverment based on the voluntary payment you made, which means for your $1100 debt, you only need to pay $1000.

The tax benefit i talked above is the deduction in your yearly tax return.  eg. if you spent $1100 in your tuition fee and got a job with annual salary of 50k related to what you study, you only need to pay tax based on $48900.

sorry I meant 15% of discount la...hehe

25% is good!

if the tuition fee is 20000, then
20000*(1-25%)=15000

If the income tax rate is 30%, then 15000*(1-30%)=10500 net pay

well in your case, maybe you are really 牛，but to me, I thnk this is impossible.　From my own experiecne, I have been doing 5 subjects in one semester with all of them HD when full time study,  after I work full time, I have been doing one subject per semester for the last 2 years and a half. I know the difference between fulltime study and  fulltime working with part time study.  How much time can you spend each week for doing 3 subjects when working?  And beared in mind that doing 3 subjects per semester is already considered fulltime in the school. Here I need to mention everyone is different, I don't know what your are working and what you are studying. Maybe you can plan your time really well, that is something I should and I need to learn from you if in that case.

But if you just want  a piece of paper to get promoted, yes, it is ur luck for getting that. but not for your boss, cause I think most of the employer in australia won't care about degree much but experience. And your boss is one of those that look at your certificate, or maybe he think you are kind of person who is self-concerned and has your plan for your career? I don't know.

I think this topic is for those who try to learn some knowledge when they are working, planning is very important, doing 1-2 subjects by your heart is already quite amazing.

And to me, there is no difference for diploma/degree.

I was getting HECS, I was told that if I pay upfront of all of them, I will receive 25% discount, and since I start the study before I find the job, I am not sure whether it will help for my tax

I really admire the people who get all the HD flashing on their resut. obviously, people themselves are really proud of it ..  hehe.. however,to  me, i look at the them as the one who's got a pass.  i think that's what the employee need as well.. coz you are not gonna have a employee who knows everything.. HD only means HD

看来读书的战友也不少

有些学校提供CSP的，PR和公民都可以申请，最高可以减免了一半左右的学费，剩下部分一次性付款还有discount。
公民都可以申请免息贷款读书。

有些雇主提供读degree的雇员晋升的机会，这不奇怪。有些不care的

LG也是FT工作PT读书, 每学期两门课, 感觉挺累的, 特别是每到 assignment 要due的时候, 下班晚饭后看电视总有内疚感, 感觉总有事情没做完, 不过几年下来也熬过来了, 到年底总算读完了, 不过他说没准过个一两年还会再读 (已经读了管理的master, 想再读个技术的). 记得最累的一段时间是白天上班, 晚上上学和自己考了两个认证, 人感觉就要被榨干了似的......总结: 人同时做两件事,问题不大,效率还行; 同时做三件事, 估计效率就会降低了

不过,有些东西真的是无奈~~

LZ，俺曾经做过半年的full time student 和full time的employee。那是最后master的最后一个学期，碰巧找到了工作，又不想把学业拖得太长，结果居然熬了过来。当然那是最后一个学期，一切熟悉了，所以也不算太痛苦。

本人的经验是，如果想FT上班，PT读书应该不是件特别难的事。有些小tip可以试一试。

1. 第一学期先只选一到两们core course。可以了解一下澳州master的学习方法。等一切熟悉之后可以逐渐给自己加码。
2.选课要讲究搭配。将考试型和论文型，或core course和选修课结合搭配在一个学期里，也可以选一些在周末上的课。
3.如有工作经验的话，可以选一些和自己原工作经历相关的。理论结合实际，学起来要轻松些。
4.找一些志同道合的同学，争取每学期都可以配对，做group assignment的时候也会容易些。
5.明确学习目的。不必每项都要HD。关键是明白自己希望通过这个学习要获得什么，文凭？开拓知识面？理论研究？。

等工作一段时间后，会发现可能开拓知识面和了解学习方法可能比多拿几个HD要重要得多。有这个想法，学习的心理负担会小很多。

我曾经一周做3－4晚上夜班，十几个小时助教，然后3门课的，感觉master的课还比较好混，上课少，作业都是独自写东西。通常都是夜班的时候批作业，读paper。嘿，累是一方面，完全都没有生活了。同志们奋斗的同时也要注意生活质量哟，很多朋友就是这样成为大龄青年的。年轻应该努力去拚，也要兼顾其他才好。不应该成为生活的奴隶。

怎么楼上动不动就是HD。。 各位HD大牛都什么学校的啊~
