一、为什么学该课程

1.兴趣:真心喜欢建筑。
2.学英语:在实践中学英语最好。
3.学技能:了解澳洲建筑规范和建筑行业。
4.政府资助:PR的福利。
Course Fees由于有Government Subsidised Place,交了550刀,如果有Health card 还可以向学校申请打折。大约只需要一两百元。真心划算。要知道,光是买一本NCC建筑规范就要两三百多刀。

说实话,我没有指望能从事什么具体的工作,挣多少钱。我在学习过程中英语提高了哪怕一丁点,我的目的就达到了!

课程介绍
正式上课前的预备,老师介绍该课程的构架,如何使用校园网和系统查看作业任务和上传作业。
The first night will be an induction explaining everything you need to know about the course, your teachers and classroom, you will also receive some of the unit manuals.

学生情况
在场什么人都有,有刚刚毕业的高中生,有社会大叔,有胡子发白的老炮。什么人种都有,本地人,戴包头的中东人,印度人,两三个黄种人。一个班30人。收满人数即止。上课时遵守1.5米社交距离。桌子都有间隔开来,要求学生用酒精消毒桌面。
Maintain 1.5 physical distance from other students, staff and teachers at all times, only sit in designated seats and remain / return to that seat for the entire class.
Apply hand sanitiser before every entry to the classroom and taking a wipe to clean desktop, chair and keyboard / mouse, computer on / off button, cleaning is not required upon leaving.

英语懵逼了,有很多头听不懂,不知所云。还要继续加强听力和专业英语。




WEEK 1              20/07/20

终于开课了。作业好多。好不容易把系统上的三大题目完成后,又解锁了后面更多的题目。就像僵尸怎么也杀不完的感觉一样。有点小崩溃。

英语的障碍像一座巨大的山压在我面前。为了理解题目的意思,我把所有的材料一一打印出来标记,算是提前预习,这周上课终于能听懂一些了,看来预习是非常有用的。

自7月13号开学,7月20号正式上课,到今天已经整整6周了,本周收获好大,不再像第一周那么战战兢兢颤颤巍巍的了。

本周一课程SITE SUPERVISION, ADMINISTRATION AND PLANNING上主要讲了PROJECT PLANNING,
包括练习写一些SCHEDULE和SITE LAYOUT PLAN,需要画一些简单的场地布置图。

本周二课程CODES AND STANDARDS.
本周二的课上Scotty老师说了一件令我们十分震惊的事情……就是……他被开掉了!!!OMG
学校给了他一笔遣散费,让他这个月底就走人。
还记得这个老师吗?我在前面提到过,满头银发却涂着骚气的红指甲的苏格兰人。
现在疫情发展,经济不好,很多高校裁人呢,但是没有想到,就发生在我们身边。而且,这个还是正在上的课,怎么就这么突然的宣布了呢?!切实感受到经济大环境下不好!

我对S老师的印象很好,因为我在作业方面有不懂的地方发邮件给他,他都会一一回复,讲解。虽然是很简单的几句,但是态度一直很好。真的不知道该怎么安慰他,尤其是用英语来表达。

在周二的课程结束后,我的同学M给我打了个电话,M我在前文中也提过,是一个保安,上次问我抄作业的那位独眼大侠。他和我八卦了S老师的事。他认为S老师不咋地。课上得也不好,而周一上SITE SUPERVISION的老师CHRIS他觉得很好。原因有二。C老师每次上课都准备得很充分。在上课前,他会把课件资源打印好,装订成册发给我们每一个同学。这个S老师就没有。同学需要自行准备,因为这些都在校园网上可以下载的。但是C老师这样操作真的很贴心。每本教程大约有80-90页,一门课有三本教程。大家都知道澳洲的教材是很贵的,即使你自己去打印也得花一笔钱,更何况他是完完全全帮你用塑封都装订好的。他还发给我们一本固定建筑合同供我们参阅。这个合同也是装订得很好的。
另一方面,C在上课的时候会对学生最关心的问题,就是作业,给大家做详细的说明,一些很复杂的地方,他会找出以前学生做的范本给大家参考,甚至不介意大家用手机拍照。这样学生对作业就知道大概不那么摸瞎了。
M说的话有一定的道理,但是我是对两位老师都很敬重的。尤其是Scotty我大概前前后后发了有十多封邮件,他都有耐心的回复我。态度很好。这不禁让我回想起来,小时候在国内上小学二年级的时候一节数学课,在课上老师讲完后问大家有什么不懂的地方可以提问。当时大家都不作声,老师就默认大家都懂了,会继续讲。可是我数学真的不灵,我就我一道不会的题目问这个数学老师(我还记得她叫姜老师,50多岁了)她确实给我讲解了一遍,完后她来了这么一句"连这都不会"  当时我幼小的心灵受到了深深的伤害,我数学课再也没有提问过。我与数学渐行渐远。

在这个BUILDING课程中,不管是哪位老师,他们总是邀请大家提问,而在场的同学们呢?他们也非常能提出各种各样的问题,有时候问题甚至有点天马行空,但似乎没有人会嘲笑他们。这似乎是一件再正常不过的事情,这,确实,也必须,也肯定是一件再正常不过事情。可在我这个受了国内教育体制N年的人看来却显得那么弥足珍贵。经过那么多年,我甚至提不出问题来了。因为在一个问题,问出口之前,我要考虑得太多。譬如,我问这样的问题,会不会显得我很白痴?会不会显得我不专注?我脑海中怎么会有那么多下意思或无意思的条件反射?!我自己也吓了一跳。我忽然意识到,我被固有化的教育禁锢了思想。好可惜。我提不出问题。尤其在人员众多的场合,尤其在英语能力有限的情况下。我对自己感到抱歉,无力感加剧。

值得高兴的是,这周二,我终于提了一次问题,我终于不怯场,反正我说的CHINLISH,听得难受的是你们,哈哈,我不负责。

在每位同学提问后,我听到最多的是老师回应,IT'S A GOOD QUESTION.然后老师会耐心讲解。每次课程结束前,老师会不厌其烦地说,你们有不懂的不明白的发邮件给我,短信给我,都可以。我不知道别的学校或者其他的老师会不会这样,这里毕竟只是一个像国内的技校。我所知道的国内的技校,或者职校,很多时候学生上课都在睡觉或玩手机,不要说提问了,恨不得马上下课的那种学生和老师居多吧。

写到这里,可能有点扯远了。但是没有关系,我上这课的目的就是为了体验一段前所未有的经验:在澳洲读书到底是什么样的?现在,我不但体验到了,我还体验到了难得一遇的LACKDOWN情况下的学习。苦笑。

再发挥一下跳跃思维。我前两天看腾讯综艺《明日之子4》第一集,节目组的人问朗朗,你好像给分都比较宽松啊!是的,毕竟只是初选,只要是有点能力的孩子都想给他们一点机会。朗朗回忆他9岁北上到北京去找老师学琴,老师直接和他说不是学琴的料,叫他不要练了,他当时那个晴天霹雳啊!好在没有放弃,终成大师级钢琴家。他说,我不会劈头盖脸的骂,而是会指出问题。这里想说,为人师,不是一顿彩虹屁就行,就像教自家孩子也一样,一味的鼓励,最后鼓励就没有了力量。有问题的时候就事论事。在情感上,还是要以鼓励为主。

再说回到我小学数学的那个事情上,我要是有朗朗这股不服输的精神,说不定今日就是华罗庚第二了吧!哈哈!YOU WISH!
我回想了一下我的前半生,大约在小学四五年级的时候,终于,终于,终于有一次数学测验考了100分!我是多么的自豪高兴激动!我知道这是多么的不容易,我把这此测验试卷放在第一页,看到那个分数就很高兴,很受鼓舞。试卷拿回家,家人看了却一句鼓励的话都没有,具体剧情大家自行脑补。我只知道,学习数学热情的小火苗又被浇灭了。

写这些,只为提醒自己。我们都曾经是孩子,现在,我们大多数人都到了有孩子的年纪。千万不要忘记了自己做孩子的感受。记得多多鼓励孩子,赞美孩子,真切的爱孩子。我听到一句话这么说,世界上没有刀子嘴豆腐心,刀子嘴的人都是刀子心。

在这个陌生的网络世界何尝不是一样呢?看到好贴留名鼓励,无关反应就此离去还是冷言冷语踩上几脚呢?每个人都有自己的选择。无论怎么选择,水面一丝丝涟漪终将散开去。

好了。再拉回来说M同学和我打电话当然不是仅仅聊八卦那么简单咯。毕竟,我的英语痛点,限制了我。想聊也不是那么容易的事情。他的中心思想还是“抄作业”。
在老师分享公屏上,可以看到每个人的学习进度,就是每一项作业的完成情况,在S老师这门课上,班上只有三个人完成了最新作业,我是其中之一。M问我作业做得怎么样了,我知道他的意图,就想逗逗他,我假装说我听不懂他在说什么,他说,那我给你发短信吧。然后哥们短信过来了,说作业能不能借我学习学习啊?我说,可以啊!是哪一项作业啊?他说:“HAHA, ALL OF THOSE.”  ;哥们够直接的哈!我也明说了啊。我说好啊好啊,没有问题,我一会把作业都发你看看,互相学习。另外,你能教教我英语吗?就练练口语,随便聊聊就好啦!M很痛快,一个电话打过来,说其实英语也算是他的第二语言,他的母语是**
如果我不介意的话他当然可以陪我练练口语。

之后我们就随意聊了聊,包括他对老师的看法,还有他的家庭情况。他是公民,多国混血,二代移民,墨尔本成长,他的妻子是巴基斯坦人,是牙医护士,他们还没有小孩,他说他不喜欢澳洲,太无聊了,压力太大,没有时间休闲。然后我们又聊了一下作业,我把我做完的部分告诉他,稍后会把作业发邮件给他,我问他学习这门课是不是没有考试,只要把作业交了,最后就能拿到证书,他说是的!最后他强调,他不会COPE我的作业,叫我不用担心,他有跟班上其他同学都联络,互通有无。我没有做完的那些TASK他要是问其他的同学完成了他会分享给我。谢谢你M。我在想,他们就没有搞个类似微信群的东西,大家一起交流一下作业吗?毕竟作业真的很多很多……

谢谢M和我聊了很久。英语一直就是我的BUG,就像数学一样。数学不好也就算了,英语不好不能忍,毕竟人在澳洲。所以我尽可能的FIX

我和M聊了一下我目前用过的英语学习软件,推荐他和即将失业的S可以去做英语老师。我在小红书上看到有人教对外汉语用的APP是ITALKI。上面也可以学习英语。还有国内我用的51TALK.英孚。
技术加身,哪里都不愁。像M,虽然是一个保安,但是会五国语言,很牛啊,只是他的形象……也许我又固有思维了,在ITALKI上我看到一些老师长相很清奇,有的好像是残障人士,每个人都各有特点,像M如果做老师,学生会想象在和海盗对话吗?听说ITAKLI老师标准还比较严,他也不一定能入选吧。国内平台51TALK就参差不齐了,建立在菲律宾的外教,M算是有优势了吧?

ITALKI上面一节外教的价格在20刀-30刀左右。和M打电话完觉得自己赚了$20。
