去年九月找到的,一直在做着contract的工作。先是做了三个月的Asset management system project manager到去年年底,实施netsuite的固定资产模块。刚好今年一月伺候了老婆坐月子,然后一月底到现在做SAP ECC implementation project manager,真正完整的负责了澳新地区整个sap项目的实施了。

现在项目快上线了,之后会做一小段时间的go-live handover和documents,就要重新找工作了哈!

对了,这个期间,由于不太稳定,一直有要找工作的压力,所以不停的学习。考了个Primce2 Practitioner的认证,过了CA的FIN,看了茫茫多的stakeholder management和people skill,还有management和leadership的书。学习的很有成效,直接在工作中尝试和实践的,算是很多年来比较积极的时间段了吧!

这次找工作的感觉应该比去年好不少了。去年开始找工作时,已经四年没有找过工作,习惯了一个公司里的环境和系统后,重新出来找工作,突然觉得好多新的系统名词,好多新的技术和新的要求都出来了,这个时候突然觉得好多都不会,或者不足。然后信心有所不足后,会很大的影响面试的表现。

比如SAP近几年新出来的HANA/4,SuccessFactor,Ariba;Business Analysis的认证,CCBA/CBAP;Agile也渐渐的由软件和应用开发项目管理方法,扩展到ERP和各种项目管理上了。所以刚开始的时候,总觉得相对每个工作,都和要求是有所差距的。而没有注重这些方面的职业发展和技术更新(考CA了),也就跟不上形势了。去年参加Workshop的时候,有些十几年一直在职,突然间需要重新找工作,那种毫无头绪,适应不了新的环境的感觉,深有同感的。

上周四面试了一个Utility公司的SAP Project Manager,实施Asset Management模块。在面试过程中,问到了很多Vendor Management和Contract Management这些问题。以前的经验都是和Vendor的Project Manager定期的开会,然后跟进项目的进度,对于各种Risk,Overbudget,Delay这些进行分析和整合资源赶上进度。由于是直接Report to CFO,所以很多这些做法都没有整体和使用Methodology,就是比较Casual的做出来而已。而面试的时候是两位IT的Program Manager,而IT在这方面是有很多的Methodology,Tool和Process,所以回答出来的时候,实在是没法用IT的Terminology来说,感觉回答的很一般。

这两天要申请一个Senior Project Manager的职位,要求有Vendor Management和Tender Management的经验,应该是一个从头开始,然后选择Vendor的一个项目了。Report to Head of IT,应该又是需要很强的应用IT这种方法论和流程的时候。找到了一些专门讲这个的流程的,Vendor Selection,能够很好的帮助自己把原来做的很多东西,给抽象和系统化。面试的时候也才能说得更好一些哈。节选其中的一部分:

Vendor Management Life Cycle (8 steps):
1. Business case definition: Description of business issue and need / Stated priority and importance / Desired outcome & broad timetable / List of potential solutions / Estimated potential ROI
2. Business requirement definition: Project overview / project scope / detailed requirements
3. Service level agreement components: Transaction volume / timelines / availability / Reliability / reporting / measurement / backup and disaster recovery / security / problem resolution / training / documentation / technical support / scheduled maintenance / quality and accuracy / vendor methodologies / named participants / escalation procedures

8. Contract termination: Make internal decision to terminate / assess internal risks / create internal transition plan / end vendor relationship based on contract forms

今天没啥工作放出来,好好的把昨天说得Senior Project Manager得工作简历改好并申请了。

之前面试的一个北区SAP Project Manager的职位,给一个美国公司Roll out澳洲分公司的整个SAP系统,和前一个工作很类似,最后工资上要求的差距太大,因为又远工资还少,一旦项目开始,作为项目经理,项目没完成又实在不能换工作,还是没接受,只能继续找。

另一个Finance Systems Manager的职位,和中介面试后,中介说要推荐到雇主那边去,结果好几天都没消息了。可能因为公司用的Peoplesoft的系统自己没用过。看到另外的中介也放出来这个工作,如果原来的中介没推荐过去,打算重新申请了。明天要确认一下到底推荐过去了没有。

今天没啥工作出来,也没申请,有一个Program Manager的工作打算好好申请和改简历,争取一下,就整个放到周末来完成吧。好消息是CA的Auditing and Assurance结果出来,通过了!

问了Finance Systems Manager那个职位的进展,中介回复还在等消息,所以暂且认为中介是把自己的简历递交到雇主那边去了吧。

这一周还是比较Quiet,所以申请工作的过程,还是找一些知识学习学习,储备储备,也有利于面试的发挥,和知道到底说什么。在面试的时候,有经验,也要说的到点子上,说得让人信服才能拿到工作。而且这些知识和点也可以很多的用到政府和大学的Selection Criteria

有一点情绪低落,最近投的比较喜欢的工作,都没有任何的回音。都是比较紧靠着Business和Finance做流程和系统的改善方面的。感觉最近申请的工作,很多在行业上和系统上的,自己的经验都点不是特别的Match。最好的近五年的Mining的经验,在墨尔本实在没什么这方面的公司在招人。而墨尔本现在招人比较多的是Gov, Utilities, Financial Service又都没有特别拿的出手的经验,Retail和Supply Chain也都是六七年以前的事情了。即使在IT这个领域,行业经验也是非常重要的。

还有昨天一个面试,早上面试了中介后就接着雇主面试了,说是ASAP。SAP方向的Delivery Lead,各个方面感觉都挺不错的,离家才20~25分钟开车。可面试的时候,感觉Report to的Program Manager很年轻,另一个Project Manager更是经验不是很够,这么做起来实在不是特别舒服。而且项目的Scope和Plan都订好了,这个工作做得就是和Accenture打交道把项目做出来就好了。而恰恰这块只做Delivery的工作,不是自己喜欢的方向,而且觉得这种项目没有很强的挑战性。综合这两个方面,面试的时候就有点不是很Positive,也根本没有表现出兴趣来,就是问什么答什么。面试下来,大家都觉得没有Chemistry,然后今天就等到了招到人的消息了。

理智上来说,现在没有工作的情况下,这个工作,工资也挺高,外加离家近,应该是非常好的。应该好好珍惜机会好好表现的。然而在当时的情况下,听到了工作的内容后,实在是对这个工作提不起兴趣出来,也没有表现的要争取工作的劲头来。

继续投简历和申请工作,准备面试。买了本<<Change Management>>的书,现在做SAP Program/Project的实施和升级,或者系统的更新,都是需要有Change Management Strategy来管理的。补充补充这方面的知识。
