请教大家一下澳洲的periodontics指的是什么？

我在考虑买insurance extra cover, 主要是牙疼，估计是牙龈发炎，想去看牙医。

Medibank的extra cover里关于dental的有两种，一种叫general dental, 一种叫major dentail. 其中major dental里包含 periodontics。查了一下，periodontics叫牙周病，这个牙龈肿痛，牙周炎算periodontics吗？看着是常见病啊。


General dental
Includes examinations, preventative treatment, scale and clean, extractions, fillings, x-rays, and surgery to remove wisdom teeth (excludes hospital charges).

Major dental
Includes services such as root canal, periodontics, crowns, dentures, bridges and veneers.

Periodontics treatment fall under major dental cover with limit applied. Unfortunately most specialist are not affiliate with any health insurance, therefore the rebate would be pathetic.
Unless you are on those corporate cover, like the one from Bupa and Medibank Private else NIB.
