这里他插播了一则案例:
1 I have taught this pose to a lady of 65 who was suffering from glaucoma. Now she finds the eyes are completely rested and the pain in them is much lessened. Medical examination revealed that the tension in the eyeballs had decreased. I am mentioning this to prove the value of the correct head stand.

这个案例,让轻度近视的我,充满了希望。我大概翻译一下就是他曾经把这个体式教给了一位65岁的老妇人,患青光眼。后来,她感到双眼得到了完全的休息,眼部疼痛也减轻了。体检也发现眼球的压力和紧张消失了。这证明头倒立的价值。

而我的yoga god 也告诉我,他遇到一位四十多岁的女生,练得特别好。他就去请教,人家说自己不是四十多岁的女生,而是六十一岁的女生,从前的老花神马的都不见了,原来病特别多呢…… 这怎么能让人不感到开心呢?

IO. It is always safe to perfect Sarvangasana  first before attempting headstand.

先练好肩倒立,再练头倒立是比较安全的。

This is because one cannot balance or hold the head stand if the body is exhausted by doing other poses
or if the breathing becomes fast and shaky. Once the body is tired or the breathing is not free and easy, the body will shake and it will be difficult to maintain the balance. It is always better to do headstand first when one is fresh.
因为如果练完其他的再练头倒立,可能累了,头倒立就不好练了。

I t has been observed that people who devote themselves 'to headstand alone without doing the shoulderstand poses are apt to lose their temper over trifling things and become irritated quickly.

根据观察,仅仅练习体式之父,而不练习体式之母,很容易为了一些小事发怒。

The  practice of shoulder stand coupled with headstand checks this trait. 肩倒立与之搭配练习,则避免了这种倾向。

If  Sarvangasana is the Mother, then Sirsasana may be regarded as the Father of all asanas.经典句来了,如果肩倒立是体式之母,那么 头倒立是体式之父。
