1. THE SUBMISSION PERIOD HAS CLOSED
The Department wishes to advise that the public submission process on the discussion paper Introducing a temporary visa for parents, notified on Friday 23 September 2016,
has now closed.
Written submissions received after midnight, Monday 31 October 2016 (AEDT) may not be considered as part of this process. Consideration of submissions received after this date will be at the absolute discretion of the Department.
2. PUBLICATION OF PUBLIC SUBMISSIONS ON THE DEPARTMENTS WEBSITE
The Department is currently in the process of publishing written submissions received in response to the discussion paper onto the Department’s website.
Due to the volume of submissions received, this process has been delayed. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Please keep visiting the Department’s website for updates on the availability of submissions. The Department will be not be contacting persons who have provided a written submission to advise when their submission has been published.
3. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Please be reminded of the following important information:
As announced on Friday, 23 September 2016, the Government anticipates this new visa arrangement will be made available from July 2017. Information about how to sponsor a parent or apply for the temporary parent visa from July 2017 will be placed on the Department’s website when it becomes available.
o There is no provision for interested persons to lodge an application or ‘expression of interest’ for this visa prior to July 2017.
