为了出行安全Samantha Riley Drive将设立临时环岛 --- Temporary Roundabouts to be Installed on Samantha Riley Drive
The upgrade and widening of Samantha Riley Drive to a four-lane carriageway continues, with three temporary roundabouts to be installed at the intersections with Redden Drive, Hezlett Road and Foxall Road.
The first of these temporary roundabouts at Redden Drive will be operating by this weekend, with the Hezlett Road temporary roundabout to follow shortly after. These temporary roundabouts will improve safety at the intersections throughout the remainder of the upgrade works.
Hills Shire Mayor Clr Andrew Jefferies said that the upgrade and widening of Samantha Riley Drive was one of the largest ever capital investments made to a local Council road project.
“This upgrade will better equip Samantha Riley Drive for the increasing number of motorists who use this road now and in the future,” Mayor Jefferies said.
“It is also one of the most complex and complicated road projects we’ve taken on and we're working with a range of other government agencies such as Sydney Water, Endeavour Energy, AGL gas, Telstra and Optus to shift and move pipes and cabling.”
Some of the works completed or currently underway include the relocation of gas and water mains along with extensive design work.
“This project will take some time, so I want to thank residents and motorists for their patience and I can guarantee that we are doing everything possible to work quickly as we understand how difficult it is in that area particularly during morning and afternoon peak trips.”
