I am sure you clearly remember the 2009 Icon Barossa Shiraz that we sent you recently - It was a hard one to forget.
The well established house-hold name, the icon release in their portfolio, that normally sells for near on $200 a bottle, all wrapped up in its resplendent wooden box - was certainly something to behold.
Well incredibly the brand new, almost as yet unseen 2010 vintage of the same wine has just landed, and we have managed to secure it at basically the same price for you. Tissue paper covered labels and all.
I don't need to tell you what that means - this is 2010 Barossa: The near perfect vintage that many well-established winemakers declared was the best they will ever see in their lifetime. Once again, I can't say the name of the wine, but you already know what it is!

The local reviews for this wine are shortly forthcoming - with the 2017 James Halliday Wine Companion due out in a couple of weeks. Expectations are rife that this will potentially score either 97 or 98 points.
Robert Parker, however, has already reviewed the wine and gave it 96 Points, giving it the second highest score for any release of this wine in its history:
" Medium garnet in color, the 2010 Shiraz (Redacted) reveals notes of black cherry compote, dried plums, mulberries and spice cake with hints of smoky bacon, cloves and Szechuan pepper. Medium-bodied, the palate is slowly evolving in typical (Redacted) fashion into an elegant expression of classic Barossa Shiraz with plenty of exotic spices to match the intense fruit swaddled by velvety tannins and a finish of great length."
If there is one wine you buy this year - make it this one. I can assure you this will never be repeated, and with the potentially high James Halliday points shortly to be awarded, the chances of this wine being discounted ever again are slim.
Forewarned is forearmed.
