In a video published with its statistics, Monash University said the results were unacceptable and intolerable.

Deputy vice-chancellor Susan Elliot said the university would implement all nine recommendations made by the Human Rights Commission report within a year.

"Monash has a zero-tolerance policy towards all acts of sexual harassment and assault," she said.

"Inappropriate behaviour from anyone in our community will not be tolerated.
