标题: 2015VCE 维州高考成绩出来了！

今天一早七点钟，我孩子查了网络刚刚知道VCE成绩出来了，是99.65，说来惭愧，我平时工作太忙，对孩子的高考还真没怎么顾得上，对这个分数没有什么概念，请教各位前辈，这个分数到底是个什么概念？可以上什么大学和专业？特别说明一下，这个绝对不是什么炫耀贴，真诚希望得到大家的帮忙。

You are among the handful of gifted students who can breeze into law (honours) at Monash (which had an ATAR of 98 this year), biomedicine at Melbourne (98.85) or civil engineering at RMIT (98.10), and you're almost certain to be offered a place in a course for a medical path if you want it.

Other reliable options: optometry at Deakin (95.15), commerce at Melbourne (95), pharmacy at Monash (92.15) and property law at Deakin (92). But are you ready to sign up for adulthood so soon? Maybe there's a tiny voice inside you that whispers: "Film and television at Swinburne (92.55)."

You are among the handful of gifted students who can breeze into law (honours) at Monash (which had an ATAR of 98 this year), biomedicine at Melbourne (98.85) or civil engineering at RMIT (98.10), and you're almost certain to be offered a place in a course for a medical path if you want it.

Some pretty incredible stats from MacRobertson Girls', where they have had an amazing year:
Average ATAR is 94.27
Median is 96.85
18.44 per cent of students ranked above 99
34.43 per cent of students ranked above 98
64.75 per cent of students (nearly two thirds) ranked above 95

This year, 35 students received the highest possible ATAR of 99.95, which puts them in the top 0.05 per cent in the state. Let's hear from the other 46,941 students also getting the news about their big year.

The VCE completion rate in 2015 was 97.7 per cent, almost identical to last year's all-time high.

And 8.8 per cent of study scores issued by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority were 40 or above.

This equated to 14,770 students receiving at least one study score above 40.

So you scored 80-plus. You're not off to med school, but there are plenty of options.

Solidly professional entry points still abound, like construction management at RMIT (82), banking and finance at Monash's Caulfield campus (82.50) and electrical engineering at Swinburne (83.95).

You could even scrape into law at Deakin (85.65) and science at Melbourne Uni isn't out of reach (86).

But other rewarding, perhaps less obvious, careers beckon, too, like criminal justice administration at RMIT (83.05), speech pathology at Australian Catholic University (83.05), exercise and sport science at Deakin's Burwood campus (83.95) or even journalism at Monash (84.3).

You've landed above the average rank in the ATAR bell curve, potentially leading the way to nursing (70.15 at Deakin this year), accounting (72.50 at Swinburne, 70.75 at LaTrobe Bundoora), psychology (73.15 for RMIT's applied science variation, 72.90 for Swinburne's arts variation), and occupational therapy at ACU (75.10).

You can potentially still get into Monash's Clayton campus, if that's a priority, for nursing (75.95) or nutrition science (76.60), and a single course at Melbourne Uni potentially pops into range: agriculture (70.65 at Parkville/Dookie)

Methodist Ladies' College is celebrating its annual haul of impressive results.

Seventeen of their Year 12 students achieved perfect study scores of 50 in 19 subjects: Accounting (1), Biology (2), Chemistry (2), English (2), Geography (1), Health and Human Development (1), Further Mathematics (5), Mathematical Methods (1), Specialist Mathematics (1), Media Studies (1), Physical Education (1) and Sports and Recreation (1).

A straight 50.00 would have got you into LaTrobe arts. Or - left-field options: marine biology at Deakin's Warrnambool campus (50.25), music industry at Victoria Uni (50.65), or nursing at LaTrobe, if you're up for moving to the Shepparton campus (52.05)

It's a huge school, so we're not sure of the raw numbers, but according to their press release, 29 per cent of study scores at Haileybury Girls College and 26 per cent of study scores at Haileybury College (for boys) were over 40.

More than half its students received an ATAR above 80 and 28 per cent achieved ATARs in the 90s. 15 per cent of its study scores were 40 or above.

"The ATAR isn't the be-all and end-all," principal Karen Money says. "I'm really happy for the students because it means they have so many more choices."

考了MM，中文第一，物理，，，后面2个都有40+，第一个考砸了的，，，差一点点，，，，不过，我们从来没有读过任何补习班，也没有在好的公校上学，，，是最一般的公校，所以，娃都是靠自己，还是不错的。我们都很高兴，哈

Some study tips from two MacRobertson High School star graduates:
Angela Pan (red dress, pictured below) and Alex Phan (striped top) both woke up this morning to learn that they are two of the 35 Victorian students who received perfect ATAR scores of 99.95.

They told their good news to excited family members and were soon contacted by various universities, including Melbourne, Monash, and Latrobe, offering scholarships.

They credit their success to spending more time studying for weaker subjects, watching Youtube videos such as CrashCourse, and making time to meet up with teachers in their spare time.

The girls' advice for future students is to take year 12 one step at a time, rather than constantly worrying about the end-goal of your ATAR score.

Angela strongly recommends that students make the effort to understand their subject content, rather than passively memorise summary notes.

Alex studied Chinese and Angela studied French; they recommend immersing yourself in the language you're studying by watching the news in your chosen language.

Angela received a perfect 50 in biology, and hopes to study medicine at Monash. She says medicine is the perfect combination of her interests in nursing and social work.

Meanwhile, Alex can't decide. She is tossing up between commerce, engineering and law.
"I don't really know what I'm doing with my life at this point. It's good that I have three years to figure it out."

"I've changed my preferences like 5 times already."

Twelve students at Melbourne Girls Grammar achieved an ATAR of 99 or higher, including their three duxes, Amy Luo, Rosemary Luong and Lucy Stewart, who all landed those perfect 99.95 ATARs. The school's median ATAR this year is 91.15, and 84 students - 77.8 per cent of Year 12 - were ranked 80 or higher.

Results in from Melbourne Girls' Grammar School, which is reporting a three-way tie for dux, all with 99.95.

Median ATAR: 91.15
32.4 per cent of girls got an ATAR of 95 or higher
50 per cent of girls received an ATAR above 91
77.8 per cent of students got an ATAR of 80 or higher

Caulfield Grammar is also celebrating after Aaron Moat and Vincent Liu received perfect scores of 99.95. Vincent Liu's twin sister, who also attended Caulfield Grammar, received an ATAR of 97.80. Thirteen Caulfield Grammar School VCE graduates scored 99.00 or higher.

Results are in for Viewbank College, where 28 students received an ATAR of 90 or above. The dux received 98.9. "We are quite proud of our achievements," principal Judith Craze said.

Mount Alexander College in Flemington is undergoing a huge transformation, which is paying off. The school has ditched its former name - Debney Park Secondary College - and is achieving some impressive VCE results.
Dux Daniel Horwood received an ATAR of 98.6 and has been provisionally accepted for an interview to study medicine at Monash University. School captain Khue Tran received 98.1 and is currently studying for her SATS in Vietnam in the hope of being accepted into a US university. Her classmate Yasin Hasan arrived in Australia from Kenya in 2010 after spending three years in a refugee camp. He hopes to use his ATAR of 61.6 to get into his dream course, a bachelor of business studies. "I feel lucky to be at Mount Alexander College and have wonderful and helping teachers," he says. "Look after your dreams, nothing can stop you."

Brunswick Secondary College 17-year-old identical twins Aidan and Matthew Blair are feeling pleased with their performance.

Aidan scored 97.9 and Matthew scored 94.6. Timna Jacks reports they both achieved similar marks in Chinese and often chose the same (right and wrong) multiple question answers in tests. No, there was no telepathic cheating, they
insist. "That would have made things a lot easier," says Matthew.
Unsurprisingly, the two have plans to study the same course - mechatronic engineering at RMIT. "He copied me," says Matthew.

Software Development enrolments have shrunk in popularity by nearly half.Mathematical Methods, Specialist Mathematics and Systems Engineering were also more popular a decade ago.

In a day of amazing stories, Stephen Zhang's ranks right up there. He got a 99.95 while doing distance education - anyone who has taken it will tell you just how hard that is.
Stephen, who hopes to study medicine, was at Melbourne University this morning to receive the uni's very tempting scholarship offer - up to $5000 a year in a stipend, fully fee paid courses, and a paid for overseas study trip.
His family were there with him, his beaming father unable to conceal his pride, repeatingly patting his tall son on the back.
Stephen was home schooled since year five in primary school. "They really wanted to have a stronger voice in my life, and they really wanted to instill moral values, character, integrity - which they considered more important than academic performance. They valued that more because it would set me up in life."

Melbourne Uni is handing out its scholarships. Liam Mannix meets Richard Song, Kevin Yu and Justin Tu, all of whom received 99.95 this morning.

"This is where you meet the other geniuses," laughs one of the boys. The three are being heavily courted by the top universities. "Two young ladies came to my house this morning with a box of chocolates and a scholarship paper from Monash uni," says one.

They're still not sure about whether to take the Monash or Melbourne scholarships. A good choice to have to make.

St Catherine's - dux got 99.95, perfect 50 score in Specialist Mathematics

Caroline Chisholm Catholic College - median ATAR = 65.95, dux got 99.60 ATAR, dux had 4 subjects with perfect 50 study score

Melbourne Girls Grammar School - median ATAR = 91.15, had three duxes each with 99.95 ATAR
